Jonathan Taylor Thomas called in to Celebrity Sightings recently to let you all know that he is currently filming a new role in an exciting new independent movie called “Speedway Junky”.
Jonathan has joined an all star cast, including Jesse Bradford (Romeo and Juliet), Daryl Hannah, Patsy Kensit (Lethal Weapon2), rapper Warren G, Tiffani Amber Thiesien (Beverly Hills 90210) and Jordan Brower (Teen Angel).
“Speedway Junkie” tells the story of a runaway teen who becomes obsessed with becoming a racecar driver in Las Vegas.
The movie is being executive produced by Gus Van Sant who brought you such groundbreaking films like “Drugstore Cowboy” and “My Own Private Idaho” and it will be directed by rising star Nikolas Perry who was discovered after screening a short film at The Sundance Film Festival.
In “Speedway Junky” Jonathan, who recently announced that he has decided to leave Home Improvement in it’s eighth season, will play Steve, a street wise drug dealer which signals a dramatic change from the Randy Taylor role for which he is best known.
Jonathan told CS that “Speedway Junky” is going to be a lot more edgy than his previous roles and it will almost certainly be aimed at an adult audience. Don’t look look for a PG rating on this one guys!
Jonathan will be done shooting the role in the next few weeks and before he looks forward to returning to school in the fall.
Finally, watch this space for news of an ultra-exclusive on-line chat with Jonathan very soon!
